Installing air conditioning is not an episode of Grand Designs. Most jobs don’t require a film crew or a second mortgage — just a bit of planning and a working kettle.
The quick version
A single-room split system usually takes one full day.
A multi-split may take two to three days, depending on access, cable runs, and how many cups of tea our engineers consume.
What slows things down
Electrical work: older fuse boxes may need an upgrade.
Access: flats and scaffolded properties require extra time (and exceptional balance).
Aesthetics: chasing pipes into walls adds polish, but also hours.
Engineers like neatness as much as you do — they just measure it in cable clips.
How to help things move faster
Clear the workspace; an engineer’s obstacle course is not a sport.
Decide condenser location in advance.
Confirm power supply access.
Do that, and your system may be cooling before lunch.
The reality check
Good engineers don’t rush — but neither do they dawdle.
The goal: leave your house cooler, cleaner, and still standing.
Fast, tidy, and comfortably Cool
